Project Overview

Introduction

The final project is where everything comes together. Over the past 13 weeks you learned how to program, solve problems, work with data, build APIs, use databases, and collaborate with Git. Now it's time to prove it and show off your newly acquired skills.

In this project, you will work in teams of 3-4 to build a real application from scratch. You will make decisions about architecture, divide work across the team, review each other's code, and deliver a working application. This is the closest experience to a real development team you've had so far -  treat it seriously.

By the end of the project, each team will present their application to the cohort and mentors in an online meeting.

Goals

• Apply the technical skills from the core program in a large project.
• Practice working as a development team: planning, dividing tasks, communicating, and resolving conflicts.
• Use Git professionally: branches, pull requests, code reviews.
• Prepare for the specialization tracks by identifying your strengths and interests.

Schedule

• Day 1 (Thursday) - Introduction meeting with the project mentor, pick up an idea.
• Day 7 (Wednesday) - Mid project check in with the mentor.
• Day 14 Wednesday - Presentations. Each team presents their project (10 minutes + 5 minutes Q&A).
• Day 15-16 (Thursday & Friday after the project) - Technical interviews.
